"I love being a part of a group that is devoted to making dreams become reality. The people at CSU have been making dreams come true for more than 40 years."
— George Flowers, chair,
2006-2007 Annual Fund campaign
Annual Fund embraces many needs
When you invest in CSU’s Annual Fund, your donation has an immediate impact and gives CSU much-needed flexibility. Unrestricted funds are used right away for CSU’s most pressing needs, including:
- Student scholarships.
- Faculty support.
- Research assistance.
- Purchases of book collections and equipment.
- Developing the technology infrastructure.
The need for student scholarships and faculty support mirrors the growth in CSU’s enrollment, up from nearly 5,200 in 2000 to nearly 7,600 in 2007. Each year in recent years, CSU has had:
- Twice as many qualified applicants as it
has scholarship dollars to award.
- Three times as many requests from faculty for research assistance as it has funds to fulfill.
The 2007-2008 Annual Fund campaign focuses on how donors can help CSU "Change Lives" for deserving students. Under the volunteer leadership of Philip W. Tomlinson, chairman of the board and CEO of TSYS, dozens of volunteers will raise $1.65 million. That includes nearly $70,000 from faculty and staff, with gifts coming from about 50 percent of CSU's employees.
