Successful CSU Day 2009 now history

Volunteers distributed about 2,500 red, white and blue signs celebrating Columbus State's connection with the Columbus-area community during the days leading up CSU Day 2009 on March 27.

CSU Day logoRain failed to dampen the day or the final push by about 100 volunteers, including seven who were recognized at a breakfast kicking off CSU Day.

"We understand the difference between existence and excellence," said Scott Voynich, leader of the 2008-2009 Annual Fund campaign, which encompasses CSU Day. "We haven't completed te race, but we are running on all cylinders. We won't let the rain or the economy dampen our efforts."

CSU President Tim Mescon noted recent completion of the university's new strategic plan and told the volunteers: "We're at a great university at a great point in our history."

As part of CSU Day, volunteers post signs in front of local businesses and residences of Columbus-area friends of CSU who have supported our Annual Fund campaign. The message on each sign is simple: We Are Partners with Columbus State University.

CSU’s Annual Fund is a main source of money to support scholarships, faculty development and community outreach programs, and serves as an opportunity to tell the CSU story and offer thanks to area businesses and residents who support Columbus State. Many display the signs throughout the year.
