Groups recognize giving loyalty to CSU

Columbus State relies on the generosity of private donors, recognizing supporters with donor group designations.

New for 2007 is the 1958 Society, comprised of donors who recognize the value of empowering CSU with the resources necessary to build a great institution. Membership is reserved for the university's most generous benefactors. Leadership giving by this group helps CSU attract world-renowned scholars, support outstanding students and ensure educational excellence. Levels within the 1958 Society are:
$10,000-14,999, Platinum Circle
$15,000-19,999, Diamond Circle
$20,000-24,999, Leadership Circle
$25,000-49,999, University Partners
$50,000 and above, Cornerstone Partners

The Founders Society sustains the legacy, imagination and generosity of CSU's early benefactors. Forward-looking citizens joined forces to establish Columbus College in an abandoned hosiery mill in 1958. This society is comprised of individuals who wish to demonstrate their commitment to the future of the university and wish to set an example for others. Levels within the Founders Society are:

$1,000-2,499, Copper Circle
$5,000-7,499, Silver Circle

$2,500-4,999, Bronze Circle
$7,500-9,999, Gold Circle

Tower Society logoThe Tower Society is comprised of alumni who commit to be ambassadors for CSU in their professional and community service roles and pledge to support the university with a minimum annual gift of $1,000.

Other donor designations:
The Legacy Society is comprised of alumni and friends who have notified the university of specific provisions in their estate, retirement or life insurance plans or have named the university as a beneficiary of a charitable trust or life income gift such as an annuity.

The President's Society is comprised of benefactors whose cumulative lifetime giving to CSU exceeds $50,000. Their gifts provide scholarships for gifted and deserving students, endowed professorships to recruit and retain distinguished faculty, capital donations to build and upgrade facilities and support that allows numerous opportunities for university programs, students and faculty.

The Shannon Society recognizes individuals, foundations and other entities that have established endowed and-or restricted funds for CSU scholarships, faculty chairs, academic units and programs or initiatives. (In 1958, Columbus College opened its doors to 265 students in a building that originally housed the Shannon Hosiery Mill.)

Other donor groups:

$500-999, Gateway Club
$250-499, Anniversary Club

$100-249, Century Club
$50-99, Half-Century Club

To lift itself above the norm, every public college must have
its private supporters, willing to give of their time, their influence and their substance to further the efforts of the institution.
